Resolved — Cloudflare confirmed that an incident affecting its US East region, primarily IAD, caused SYN-ACK forwarding failures. This prevented specific egress IPs from completing TCP handshakes and resulted in HTTP 522 errors.
The incident was fully resolved on July 31, 2026, at 23:01 UTC. Our edge logs confirm that the 522 errors for cachix.org dropped immediately after the resolution.
